Mindfulness Community Group

Do you have trouble letting things go or find yourself easily distracted? Are you rushing through your day and needing to crash on the couch at night? Our world encourages us to stay in “doing-mode” and has a lot of distractions with phone notifications, never-ending to-do lists, and constant news feeds.

Being constantly busy and distracted contributes to mindlessness and does not allow us to just be.

Let's foster some more awareness and make room for self-compassion.

In this 8-week group, we will learn and practice different tools and concepts to help you become more mindfull. Mindfulness is defined as “keeping one’s complete attention to the experience on a moment-to-moment basis in an open and non-judgmental way.”

Mindfulness allows us to:

  • Become aware of thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental, compassionate way

  • Inherent to our human beingness

  • Accept negative thoughts/emotions instead of resist them

  • Is evidence-based practiced with research providing evidence of benefiting our health and relationships

Mindfulness is not:

  • Just meditation

  • A religion

  • Becoming emotionless, thoughtless, or blank

  • Avoiding or withdrawing from life

  • Escaping pain

We will learn evidence-based techniques that not only help deal with stress, anxiety, and depression, but offers sustainable lifestyle changes that allow us to relate to ourselves and others more compassionately and openly.
