Exposed to 200,000 toxins daily?!

Updated: Jul 20, 2022

It is astounding to ponder the level of toxicity we are exposed to on a daily basis. New toxic chemicals are being added to the mix without proper individual testing, nor are they tested in combination with the slew of other chemicals already out there. Many estimate that the average American is exposed to over 200,000 toxicants daily and studies have been done showing that these chemicals remain even in breast milk.

Symptoms of toxic overload can include many things such as fatigue, skin conditions, brain fog, insomnia, headaches, and weight gain. We are exposed in our water (drinking, bathing, cooking, swimming), air (pollution, perfumes, mosquito spraying in our neighborhoods, air fresheners, hair products), cleaning products (in our homes, at work, out and about), personal care products (shampoos, lotions, soaps, makeup, feminine hygiene) and food (pesticides, fungicides, additives, preservatives). What to do? It can be overwhelming, but there are ways to help reduce our exposure and help our bodies detoxify these chemicals.

The first step is to try to reduce your exposure to these chemicals. Here are 3 swaps that can make a big difference:

  • Cleaning products: Switch to all-natural like our favorite Branch Basics (Follow this link to get $10 off your first order from Branch Basics or make your own cleaners - DIY videos and sites abound on the web.

  • Water: Make sure you are using a good filter. We love the Berkey Filter as it can remove so many chemicals from tap water that your refrigerator filter could not even touch. My Berkey was a lifesaver during the freeze of 2021, as it uses no electricity and can purify just about any kind of water. Use this code to get 10% off this month: HOHBerkey10

  • Foods: Buy only organics from the EWG’s Dirty Dozen list of the most pesticide-laden fruits and vegetables.

Even with these changes, we need to detox daily to remove residual chemicals and keep our bodies from holding onto the ones we cannot avoid. Here are some things I recommend incorporating into your daily (or almost daily) routine for better health:

  • Drink ample purified water daily (Berkey-filtered, of course). We usually recommend drinking ½ ounce per pound of body weight daily. You can add fresh organic lemon juice to it in the morning to support liver and kidney detoxification.

  • Dry skin brush before showering to stimulate your lymphatic system to move out toxins and help the skin detoxify. Brushing your skin with a dry natural bristle brush in a circular motion moving towards the heart for a minute or two before bathing is all it takes. We have our natural-bristle, dry brushes on special this month for 15% off.

  • Use an Infra-Red Sauna to help sweat out toxins such as heavy metals and mold, calm the nervous system, reduce inflammation, and improve energy. I absolutely love my portable Relax Sauna and use it almost daily. You only need 15-20 minutes to take advantage of those amazing benefits. We are having a special this month if you are interested in a sauna for your home. You can test-drive one we have in the clinic for a few minutes (sitting in the sauna for only 5-10 minutes has great benefits for your nervous system and mitochondrial health without even sweating). And, of course, it is very relaxing. Our in-house Infra-red sauna is on special this month usually priced at $1500, specially priced at $1400. Use the code: HOHSauna to receive the discount. Note: we have a very limited supply at the office priced at $1350 (due to no shipping charges required). Let us know if you want to purchase one of those. VERY limited supply! Our Infrared sauna located here in the office is available for your use as well. Regularly priced sessions at $45 will be on special for $30 each this month.

  • Take Detox Baths. An Epsom Salt bath is very beneficial in not only infusing the body with magnesium but in helping the body move out toxins. If you want to uplevel your detox bath, try Dr. Madej’s detox bath: 1 cup Epsom salts, 1 cup borax, 1 cup baking soda and ½ cup bentonite clay. Soak for 20 minutes and then wash off. Our footbath is another great way to remove toxins. It’s on special this month, usually priced at $45, specially priced at $30 each this month only.

  • Include Binders in your routine. A Binder is a supplement that helps pull out toxins from the body. HMET is one of my favorites because it helps to pull out heavy metals and environmental toxins (especially toxic glyphosate) and is an especially good one to take when you are eating out. HMET will be on sale during the month of July at 15% off.

  • Use Castor Oil Packs to help the liver detoxify, improve sleep and reduce inflammation. We love Queen of the Thrones packs. They are easy to use and very effective. From July 1 through July 5th ONLY, you can get a Castor Oil Pack Kit + Dry Brush Detox Kit / Save 18% + an additional $15.97 off (Free Dry Brush) with coupon code. TOTAL SAVINGS OF $32.97. Click here for your discount. Use Promo code: TRACY22

  • One last company that is doing a great job of providing protection against EMF damage is Blushield. They are having a great July 4th sale as well. You can get an 18% discount July 1st through the 5th ONLY. Use discount code at checkout: HOH.

Being proactive by incorporating daily detox habits into your life can make a huge difference in your health in the long run. If you want to pursue a more in-depth detox process, talk to your practitioner. It is a good idea for most of us to do a more comprehensive full-body cleanse 2-3 times per year to stay on top of our health.
